The Food I Love
Today was Jacob and Sarah's birthday. Jacob is 15 and Sarah is 17. They're growing up. I just can't believe it. Life passes by without fault. Soon they'll be with me in college, like Briana already is.
Anyways, we went to a barbeque restaurant called Famous Dave's. We got a "feast, Feast, FEAST" as a family. I have to say that, it is probably in my top 10 of restaurants that I like to go to. The food there is amazing: corn bread, beans, chicken, brisket, ribs (oh so good) corn, and yes, even coleslaw. All of these are what puts Famous Dave's on my map of good restaurants.
Thinking about it extensively, I would probably say that my all-time favorite restaurant is Cafe Rio,
or the cheap knock-off version, Cost Vida. I pretty much would go there every week after my temple trips. I would order two enchiladas, pork barbacoa, mexican rice and black beans on the side, all with lettuce and cut up tomato pico de gallo. And sometimes maybe a horchata to wash it all down, and hot cinnamon mints. Top that off with a frequent diner card, FREE MEAL after every 10th meal. I've been on dates to Cafe Rio. One that I recall: the dining room was full, but I was prepared for this. I brought a blanket we could sit and eat on. We ate in front of the Provo River. It could've been romantic, but the girl wasn't into me. It was a good date though.
My favorite fast food restaurant would have to be Carl's Jr.
Or, if you are from the midwest, Hardee's. I love hamburgers, but I especially love charbroiled Famous Stars. Second best hamburgers are In-n-Out's. And a fastfood restaurant that I like, that isn't a hamburger joint would be Miguel's Jr.
Point being: I LOVE FOOD, especially good food.
And one more point that I would like to make is that I love Peruvian Food. I love the authentic beans, rice, and entree, whether it be Tallarin Saltado,
or Lomo Saltado, Arroz con Pollo, Papa a la Huancayina, anticuchos, etc. I wouldn't be able to live without that food. It was good having the Peruvians at our house, because each day, without fail, the dish would be so good.
